Well
here we are, about to start the 3rd trimester. I can't believe it! A year ago I
was planning my wedding and had no thoughts of babies or being a mom running
through my head. Well God has crazy plans for your life so watch out! :) Just a
years’ time can bring so much wonderful and exciting change to your life. It
has to my husband and I. As we approach the Easter season and my "final
countdown" of the last 3 months, I can't help but think about how Mary
felt while she was pregnant with Jesus. Were the same worries and thoughts
running through her head as I have? Was pregnancy any easier for her since she
carried the Son of God in her womb? Probably not. She more than likely had
pains and nausea and swelling in her feet just like the rest of us. But how did
she push all that aside and dwell on the blessing growing inside her and think,
"My son is going to save the WORLD." While my little Ayden will
probably not change the world like Jesus did, I sure pray he grows aspiring to
be a man of God.
The
past few days I have not been feeling well. It started with feeling run down,
which brought on a fever and the chills. Then I fought with some Braxton hicks
contractions on Friday and every since I have been suffering with some sinus
and allergy related drainage. Not my best weekend or beginning to my week. As I
am recovering from all this, I had my latest Doc appointment today with my
wonderful OBGYN. He discussed the results to my glucose test from last
Thursday. This test is to determine if the mother has gestational diabetes. I
passed with flying colors! Which is great because it is basically like your
body becomes diabetic only while you are pregnant and then it resolves about a
month postpartum. It can affect the growth of baby and cause mother to gain
excess weight as well. Not the end of the world when controlled with strict
diet and exercise but glad I don't have one more worry to deal with. Just
continue to be healthy and drink LOTS of water. He also measured my belly as he
does at every appointment. When he went to check the heart beat with the
doppler, Ayden immediately started moving around. He definitely does not like
have sound waves bounce around in his quiet little womb. His territory:) He is
facing downward and apparently all the fluttering I have been feeling on the
lower part of my bump is him moving his hands around and stretching more than
likely. Is it not so fascinating that a baby grows mostly (from our
perspective) upside down?! But to the baby, He doesn't know up from down and he
kind of is in a state of weightlessness! So crazy!
At
the end of the appointment Dr. L. said, "Ok Kids, I'll see y’all in 2 weeks." Wait....Did I hear that
correctly? We are down to the every 2 week appointments ALREADY? WHAT?! It
feels like this has all flown by so fast. It just hit me by surprise. We went
out and decided to schedule the rest of our appointments till my due date. It
kind of hit me seeing that we only have a handful of appointments left till
June 24th. Exciting and can’t wait to meet my little guy.
We
also want to say a HUGE thanks to everyone who has been blessing us with baby
stuff. We cannot express the gratitude and love we feel for all those who have
given us those things we still needed for Ayden’s arrival. Thank you.
